Superbowl XLVI is just around the corner (FEB 6th). The Stingrays will be watching the event at our sponsors The Titanium Bar in Surfers Paradise. There will be a $15 American Style Breakfast for Stingrays supporters and friends. Come along and watching the helmets crash as the New England Patriots take on the New York Giants!

Stingrays Awards Night 2011

The Stingrays awards night was held at the Titanium Bar and was attended by Stingrays family and friends. A big thankyou goes out to our sponsors Titanium Bar for the fantastic venue and a big thanks as usual to President Geoff Hay for organising such an event. Stingrays 2011 Sunbowl Champs

The Gold Coast Stingrays have reclaimed the Gridiron Queensland Sunbowl title with a 20-7 win over the Northside Rhinos.

The Stingrays controlled the majority of the game with standout performances by #6 WR/QB Damo "Fluffy" Malloy, #3 DB Mike May and the Defensive and Offensive Lines.

The Stingrays scored early in the game but on the ensuing kick off Quarterback Kyle Low was injured. This forced utility player Damien Malloy back into QB, the position he frequented most of the season and Malloy took the most of the opportunity with a dominating ground performance.

Constant pressure from the Stingrays Defence forced several mistakes from the Rhinos including fumbles and intercepts. The Rays offense took the most of of the opportunities with running backs Robbie Edmonds and John Weir moving the chains and WR Ryan Pedley catching some critial 3rd downs.

The win sees the Stingrays bring back their 9th Sunbowl title, making them the most successful club in Gridiron QLD history.

Coach Diprose is a highly respected person within Gridiron Australia. Coach Diprose excelled whilst he played the sport and has represented both his state and country. Coach Diprose guided the Stingrays to an undefeated 2010 season which was capped of by a Sunbowl win.

Stingrays 2011 AGM

The Gold Coast Stingrays AGM will be held on Sunday 13th March at 2:30 pm, Glennon Park, Nerang. Many positions are needing to be filled and no experience is necessary. All those interested are welcome to attend. Please email information@gcstingrays.com for more info.
